Our sea journey begins in the main tourist center of Montenegro – Budva. As we sail past the ancient walls of the Old Town, a stunning panorama of historic Budva will unfold before us, as if taken straight from a postcard.
Next, we will visit an emerald grotto hidden near the famous Mogren Beach, where crystal-clear waters and magical light reflections create an enchanting atmosphere.
Our journey then continues southeast towards the charming town of Petrovac. Along the way, we will enjoy the scenic views of the Budva Riviera’s coastline. Complimentary dry wines and juices will be offered on board to make the journey even more comfortable and pleasant.
We will sail past one of Montenegro’s most iconic landmarks – the island-town of Sveti Stefan. The first mention of this remarkable place dates back to 1442 when the Paštrovići tribe repelled Ottoman raiders returning with their loot from an attack on Kotor. Inspired by their victory, they built a church and fortress on the island in honor of Saint Stephen the Protomartyr.
Once a humble fishing village, Sveti Stefan became an important trade and transport hub under Venetian rule. By the early 19th century, the island had around 100 houses and over 400 residents. However, economic difficulties in the 20th century led to its decline.
In 1955, the last island residents were relocated to the mainland, and Sveti Stefan was transformed into an elite resort. The restoration preserved the original appearance of all 80 historic buildings, making the island as authentic today as it was centuries ago.
Beyond Sveti Stefan, we will make a long stop at a secluded Adriatic lagoon, hidden from prying eyes by the impassable ridges of the Dinaric Alps. This beach has no land access, meaning only our tour group will enjoy its tranquility. Sunbeds and umbrellas are, of course, included in the price, as well as a delicious fish lunch, which we will savor right on the Adriatic shore.
