Do you crave adventure? Maybe you’re looking for a real reset? Then rafting in Montenegro is exactly what you need! The invigorating emerald waters of the Tara River will wash away all negativity from your mind!
A rafting trip in Montenegro will make your vacation truly unforgettable! Rafting in Montenegro is the beauty of the mountains, the thrill of adventure, and the brightness of new experiences! This is not just a river descent—it is a full-fledged excursion through Montenegro, during which we will learn a lot about this amazing country and see many fascinating places on the way to the rafting site
Rafting in Montenegro is a must for those who want to experience the most vivid emotions. It is an unforgettable yet completely safe adventure! In Montenegro, rafting takes place not just on a mountain river but in the canyon of the Tara River—the deepest canyon in Europe! The maximum depth of the canyon reaches 1,200 meters. You will have the unique opportunity to conquer Europe’s deepest canyon and admire its breathtaking beauty from within!
Early in the morning, we will head northwest to the source of the Tara River, deep in the heart of the Montenegrin mountains! Our journey to the rafting site will take us along the azure shores of Piva Lake, an artificial mountain lake created in 1976 by flooding the Piva River Canyon after the construction of the Mratinje Dam. Today, Piva Lake reaches a depth of 188 meters and sits at an altitude of 675 meters above sea level. Along the way, our professional guide will share fascinating facts and thrilling stories about Montenegro and its landmarks.
Finally, we arrive at Šćepan Polje—the starting point of our rafting adventure. The best part is yet to come!
Upon arrival at the rafting base, we will enjoy a delicious Montenegrin breakfast, followed by a short safety briefing and distribution of wetsuits and other necessary equipment. Then comes the exciting moment—we grab our paddles and board the rafts—durable inflatable boats designed for river descents. The total rafting distance in Montenegro is about 18 kilometers. Just imagine—18 kilometers of pure adrenaline and unforgettable experiences!
You can bring your phone or camera since waterproof bags are available on the rafts, allowing us to capture stunning photos during the journey!
An experienced skipper will guide the entire rafting process, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. All we need to do is follow simple commands and immerse ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of Montenegro’s nature!
The commands are usually just three: "Right side, paddle!", "Left side, paddle!", and "Rest!". However, great effort won’t be necessary—the river’s current naturally carries our rafts along the designated route. The skipper adjusts the movement, and we assist while actively participating in the rafting experience—it’s so exciting!
After the rafting adventure, we will be treated to a hearty Montenegrin national lunch before heading back to the Adriatic coast.
